Alice Temperley

Of the people I know, I am the only one not hiding a bottle of prescription something or other in my bag. Instead, I shop at Target. I know...but I love it. It's my drug of choice.

I love the Go International Collections. Libertine was clearly the best of all of them, demonstrating the most focus. I generally like most of them but...I was there yesterday and it was...Maybe someone can explain to me where I can actually go dressed like this.

Sunday Morn'

I'm visiting a friend in a nearby city. He does PR for a little French label that will rock the market when it comes to the USA. Imagine the 24 lines by YSL but add in more staples like cashmere hoodies and the nicest set of bright blue cashmere mittens ever. You'll love them when they arrive States side. They're thinking about launching it first in a small city before marketing it in NYC.

I couldn't sleep. Maybe it's the guilt from buying that Fendi bag (I didn't need another one...right?) Regardless, it's done. I got up early.

Fall's here, no?

Top Model: The Afghan Edition

Rumour has it that six years after the Taliban rule, an even harsher dictatorship has taken power. Reuters reported that in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, a local television station staged a low-budget take on the hit "America's Next Top Model."

Can Ms. J be far and those crazy outfits be far behind? Run y'all! Run!

You, Me and Fendi

Dear Landlord,

The rent will be late. But there was a editors/buyers/socialites/trophy wives/ mistresses/ and Paris private trunk show and we all got nifty little $200 passes. I used mine to buy the earrings and then I saw the bag. I know it's one season behind but look at it. So shiny. So shiny. You'll be very unhappy when you get my note (with the best tin of groveling muffins ever) but I hope you'll understanding. I need this bag for that party in Times Square this New Year's Eve.

Love,

Me

Coat Inspiration

For this winter, I'm gonna get me a techni-colour coat! Let the shopping expedition begin!

Intern Love

My intern sent me an email.

I just about tripped over my Fendi when I saw this picture. It's gonna be blown up the size of the LV flagship in Paris and hung on my wall.

A side note, doesn't Anna Piaggi look damn good!

Boot Up

And maybe boots will be in order this year. I am thinking maybe chocolate, soft, with minor metal details. A little rough up, but still good with a suit. A little height, but not too much. Imagine sexy secretary meets crazy mistress or Tom Ford's early days at Gucci. Speaking of which...um, his new scents...not such a hit.

Bergdorf Love

I decided to buy two little knit scarves for fall. I can feel it. It's going to be a scarves and knit hat autumn.

Prada Spring: Seen It Somewhere...

Meet my Vietnamese nail lady.

Or, consider this look

and Ms. Swan...

Professionally, I would say the following:

Prada's Spring is all about regressing into the innocent world of storytelling and soft pajama looks with tunics that falls casually across the body. Check cloths and lose cuts that adhere to the Prada aesthetic of form and function.

Now, with the markets in a flux, politics hinged on the affects of a jester, and when fashion isn't too sure if there is something more, she's sent us all a warm comfort. It's a return to a safe time. When people read stories to their children and people wore pajamas to bed because they had time to prepare for bed and not collapse into it at night. This isn't fashion all sex-ed up and women's right polished and cut out in shaped and tight forms. Here's she's back, as a lose figure, a regression into a time when the world wasn't based on what warning level the airports were operating on and being outside felt as safe as being in one's bedroom.

But we all know the truth.

Age Before Beauty

Should I be offended? Just landed on my desk as part of the Milan show gifts:

Everyone else gets scarves and little spritz bottles of scents and clutches...I get...anti-aging potions...

Sample Me This

Sample sales my friends. Sample sales. I hit up day 1 of the Prada Sample Sale and spent half of my pay check but left with enough clothes for a week of work. I felt slightly guilty lining up my schedule around my purchasing appointments but what the hell. It's Prada we're talking about here.

Vogue interns, don't think I didn't see you. Anna would disapprove of her pets being seen at a swap meet. I mean sample sale.
